Our Guiding Principles
Structured, Not Chaotic
Dogs thrive in predictable environments. Our routines are intentional — from introductions to rest periods — reducing stress and supporting healthy behaviour.
Calm Before Excitement
Stimulation has value, but regulation matters more. We prioritize balanced activity with appropriate downtime to prevent over-arousal.
Transparency With Families
Clear communication builds trust. We explain how our systems work so families understand what their dog experiences during their stay.
Safety Through Management
Good behaviour is supported through structure. Thoughtful group composition, controlled transitions, and attentive handling reduce unnecessary risk.
The People Behind The Barkway

When we pull in the driveway, Sam can hardly wait for us to get him out of the car & into the greeting area! Great place for your dog to go! thanks John & staff! A. Spratt
He was happy and doing great when we picked him up. He was excited to see us, but it almost seemed like he was a little disappointed to be leaving too! He seems happy and healthy and doesn’t seemed to have picked up any bad habits or lost any of the training that we have been working on. I’m not worried at all about the next time we have to leave him, and I feel like he will be more than happy to go back! John and his team are very professional and seem to have the dog’s best interests at heart at all times. He was able to fill us in on what Bo was up to while he was there. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend!
