He was happy and doing great when we picked him up. He was excited to see us, but it almost seemed like he was a little disappointed to be leaving too! He seems happy and healthy and doesn’t seemed to have picked up any bad habits or lost any of the training that we have been working on. I’m not worried at all about the next time we have to leave him, and I feel like he will be more than happy to go back! John and his team are very professional and seem to have the dog’s best interests at heart at all times. He was able to fill us in on what Bo was up to while he was there. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend!
Boxers are a very high energy breed so it's amazing that I have the option to take her to daycare because it gives her a chance to burn off her energy during the day. She gets outside at least three times a day with a group of dogs who have a similar temperament and size to Mabel. I know she goes hard during those outings because she is appropriately tired out at the end of the day. Mabel also gets her nails trimmed regularly while she is there and has had a few sleepovers when we wouldn't be back out in the area in time to pick her up. I've never had any issues and I'm very happy for how socialized Mabel is.
The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating and always puts the health and safety of the dogs first. The staff closely monitors for any sign of illness among the dogs. If they suspect there may be a sick dog, they err on the side of caution and will close down for a thorough clean. The rooms are always cleaned between dogs anyway, but they will do an extra deep clean if there is a possibility that a virus has gotten in. Of course, it's not ideal for them or for clients if they have to be closed, which is why they are so stringent vetting dogs before their stay, but I do appreciate the extra care to make sure each dog remains healthy.
I highly recommend Loyalist Barkway for any of the services they offer. Your pup may not want to go home at the end of their stay!
